Tips for Women with Curves

As women we struggle with being comfortable with our body image simply because we feel that we don’t have the perfect body type that we can’t be fashionable. It’s important to be confident and comfortable with the skin that you are in. Just because you have a little extra in certain areas of your body doesn’t mean that you can’t be stylish and chic. I am guilty of this myself, but I have come to realize that even after losing weight and still not being that perfect size that I can still be SEXY with my curves. You should not hide your figure by wearing baggier clothes, instead flaunt what you have by accentuating your curves. Buy things that work best for your shape or body type. Being confident and owning your body is sexy and shows that you have confidence about yourself.

Accentuate Your Waist:

Show off that tiny waist..Adding a belt makes your outfit look more polished. Purchase stylish belts that you can wear to accentuate your waist. I know they are comfortable and they look amazing on, but flowy tops and dresses are not flattering on a curvy figure. They can make you look pregnant and they look sloppy in photos. Try wearing a tunic or dress and pairing it with leggings and again just adding a belt makes it look more polished. Anything you wear should be proportioned to your body, and sometimes maybe having it tailored will be a good idea if it doesn’t fit properly and will make a huge difference because then it will fit your body type perfectly.

Below are some Women with Curves that Inspire me and I absolutely love their style:

Jill Scott-R&B Singer

Jennifer Hudson-R&B Singer

Tocarra Jones-Model (America’s Next Top Model)

Kimberly Locke-Singer (American Idol)

Those are some great tips. I think it is easy to think that we can hide in big tops, while they in fact make us look bigger.

Thank you for participating in the Sunday Twitter Exchange today, I am following you on Twitter. I would love it, if you would come join me at Follow Us Monday Morning@ Frugality Is Free.

I’m following you now from Fancy Meeting You. I LOVE this post… it wasn’t until recently that I realized I wasn’t doing myself any favors by wearing big tops. My goal is now to NOT look pregnant. :) I’m going to check out more of your blog now.

I’m so excited to have found your website. I am a chic with curves, my boyfriend doesn’t seem to mind but I haven’t “owned” it yet. I like the tips you listed. I guess at my age I should start thinking about getting healthy and not fret about the need to just lose weight. The pictures you posted are awesome. The women are gorgeous motivation. I remember Tacara from ANTM. I have been following Jennifer Hudson’s career and truly admire her strength.

I thank you again and look forward to your following your blog.
