Now that summer is in full swing here… and vacations are coming up, let’s talk about what you’re packing to take on vacation.
This is the perfect post for me this week because I will actually be taking a few vacations this summer. We will be heading to Disney World in August and next week I will be leaving for St. Louis to visit friends and family. My son will be staying for a few extra weeks to spend some time with his grandma and grandpa for the summer and a break for me..woohoo. I mean I love my kids to death, but this will actually be the first year that he has been able to do this since he is getting older now and when my daughter gets older best believe she will be doing the same lol.
1. When it comes to packing for vacation what’s your mantra?
This is definitely something I struggle with because I tend to overpack and end up taking things that I don’t actually need so this time I’m actually going to pack ahead of time and give it a little more thought and even try on exactly what I decide to take just to be sure everything fits properly. I’m always having to pay the extra baggage fee because my bags are over the weighty capacity.
2. What are your must packs?
My must packs for my summer vacations will be maxi dresses, bright and colorful tops, swimwear, flat sandals wedges, chunky accessories, and of course sunglasses.
This photo was taken last year in Hawaii at North Shore Beach. Visiting the beaches in Hawaii is the perfect Staycation and we took full advantage while living there. I wasn’t going to post this picture because I’m wearing a swimsuit and I’m not fully clothed, but what the hell…I’m covered and wanted to share with you guys.
3. What are you happy to leave behind?
I’m happy to leave behind a break from this HOT and Desert-like Texas heat here in San Antonio. I’m sure it’s hot just about everywhere right about now, but the heat here is a whole lot different and is very humid and dry.
4. Any packing secrets that help you get everything into one suitcase?
One suitcase is a bit unrealistic for me, but two I could definitely swing especially when you will be staying for more than a week. So from my last trip in March my best friend mentioned that I should try rolling up my clothes in my suitcase and it did wonders and it saved me much more space and it makes it a whole lot easier to go through your bags when your looking for stuff. Another great tip for saving space is to use trial-size bottles for toiletries.
5. Beach reading…what are you taking with you to read in the sand?
I will be taking some of my favorite style magazines to read, which consists of Glamour, Instyle and Ok Magazine, to catch up on the latest trends. I will also have my iPad as well to keep up on my daily fashion reads as well.
BTW again I apologize to you all that I have been neglecting to post as much, but between grad school, and working from home it has been a struggle. Grad school will be over soon and I only have two classes left it’s just trying to get into the swing of things and manage them in the process, but I promise things will get better soon…JUST PUH-LEEASSSEE bare with me.

Disney World…. I”m only an hour away!!! It will definitely still be hot and humid down here in August! Shorts and tees and sandals or comfortable sneakers are best for being in the WDW parks!
