The summer is coming to an end and it’s almost time for the kiddos to return back to school. The kids and I have been preparing for the excitement of the new and upcoming school year.

As a mom of two for I’m always excited for my kids to return back to school for the new school year. It’s exciting to see my kids grow up and progress through life. My daughter Niyah has expressed that she is nervous because this year she is going to the third grade and will have to take the STARR Test this year (Texas State Test), but that she is excited because she is going to a higher grade level and will be attending a new school on the base since we recently moved. I’m so proud of all of her accomplishments in all areas of life. Last school year in the 2nd grade she excelled and her reading scores are very high and she is well above average in reading. Not to mention last year for the entire school year she made the A Honor Roll with the exception of the last semester before summer. Aside from school she will also be going on her third year of gymnastics and she is a very athletic little girl and has recently moved up another level as a gymnast. She is currently on her 3rd level and I can see her growth and is very passionate about gymnastics. One other thing I think we are both excited about is that she does not have to wear a school uniform this year which will allow her to show her own unique style. She is really looking forward to that because there are outfits and clothing that we had purchased last school year that she wasn’t able to wear because she had outgrown them due to not being able to wear them to school.

Niyah personal style is a lot like her mom’s and she is very much into animal print and leopard right now. She also has a thing for polka dots and studs as well. Her favorite thing by far is the clothing line D-Signed Style Diaries which is worn by some of her favorite child actresses Chyna and Ce-Ce from the Disney Channel show Ant Farm. This line can be found at Target store near you. Both of my kids have their own personal style and it’s so cool to see the outfit ideas they come up with. I will say this though things have definitely changed a lot since I was a kid.
My son is also excited for the new school year as well because he is going to high school and I can’t believe how fast he has grown up….right before my eyes. This will be his first year in high school and we are both excited and nervous at the same time. I’m excited to see how this basketball season will go because he has developed and trained so much over the summer for the new school year.

Every time I walk into Target and see the girls clothing, I want to shrink my teens into little girls again! They have such cute stuff and your daughter looks amazing!
Shelly recently posted..Celebrate the return of football season at Buffalo Wild Wings with the whole family!
Yes Shelly I agree…I adore their little girls clothing and it’s where I primarily shop for my daughter.
My daughter was eyeing those leopard pants yesterday but I dismissed them but now seeing them n they look darling! Are those the jeans or leggings version?
Hi Katie thanks so much and those are leopard jeans that my daughter is wearing. I believe we actually purchased them off the clearance rack and they were a steal. I can’t wait to see what else we can score when we head over for back to school shopping later this week.
