In my previous post Stay Connected with Loved Ones via Skype I mentioned how important it was for my family and I to stay in contact with my husband during deployments. It’s also important for us to stay in contact with our family who lives hundreds of miles away. The military lifestyle is definitely a challenging one and often times we aren’t able to be near the ones we love and we turn to Skype for the times when we can’t. I’m here to tell you that Skype is lifesaver for my family & I and although it’s not the same as being face to face it’s pretty close to it. Thankfully, the technology of Skype has us covered for connecting with both our friends and family whether they are near or far. We particularly use Skype primarily for the holidays, but there are also just those ordinary days when you miss your loved one and being able to easily access them via Skype and physically see them makes it that much better. Skype allows my kids to stay in contact with their grandparents and keep them in the loop on the things that are going on in their daily lives. My daughter’s favorite thing to do is sing and read via Skype with family and she also loves the feedback that they give her as well. Skype is a great program that our family appreciates for keeping in contact with the ones we love.
