    #BlogHer12 & What I Wore {Recap Part 1}

    August 13, 2012 / BlogHer12, Curvy Style, Fashion, Style, What I Wore

    Hello Lovelies,

    Sorry I’m so behind, but I am trying to get back into the swing of things since attending BlogHer.

    I’ll carry on.

    NYC Bound

    Last weekend I had the opportunity to attend BlogHer12 and it was so much fun to say the least. I roomed with my good friend Krystel from Army Wife 101 who I hadn’t seen since we were stationed in Hawaii (about 2 years ago). We stayed at the Sheraton Hotel right next door to the Hilton where the conference was held. My primary goal was to attend the conference and enjoy myself while networking with other bloggers and connecting with brands. I did that and a whole lot more. I met bloggers from all over…blogs I already follow as well as new ones that I am now following. I made new friends that I felt like I had know for years and it was overall a great experience. I didn’t get a chance to take advantage of all the classes that I would like to have attended because many of them were full and they also conflicted with other events that were going on, but that’s okay because there is always next year and I look forward to attending again next year in Chicago. I have tons of pictures to include in the post so I will include some here and you can view the others on .

    When I landed in NYC I was a little irritated because my driver was a whole hour late picking me up. I mean I had just got off a long plane right from San Antonio which included a layover, I was hot and I had to wait so I had every right to be irritated…OK vent over lol. I wasn’t going to let this mess up my trip and stop me from having my fun and I didn’t. After waiting my driver had finally made it to pick me up and we drove for an hour 30 minutes to the hotel (it just seemed like forever since I had already been waiting). I finally made it to the hotel around 2:00pm (on Thursday) and was SUPA excited to see my good friend Krystel as she greeted me with the biggest hug..again we hadn’t seen each other in years besides our daily chats on Skype, but this was in “real life” (you get what I mean) lol.

    What I WoreWhat I Wore to NYC:
    Blazer~Thrifted {Value Village} | Skinny Jeans~Kohl’s {Rock & Republic} | Royal Blue Loafers~Kohl’s {Candies also similar here} | Zebra Print Pashima {Affordable Scarves} | Cream Top~Torrid {years ago} | Pink Watch~Michael Kors | Gold Earrings~Target

     After catching up and getting over the excitement of seeing one another we had pre-planned to go shopping at H&M being that there isn’t one here in San Antonio. So we headed to the lobby to catch a cab to H&M where our cab driver had actually abandoned us and dropped us off about 5 blocks away from where the store was actually located. I still don’t quite get why he felt the need to drop us off in the middle of the street and we not know where the heck we were headed. He had a very heavy accent so we didn’t quite understand what he was saying to us so there was a heavy language barrier and we truly didn’t accomplish much besides paying $5.00 of cab-fare for nothing #fail. So we then attempted using our cell phones to get us in the right direction (by foot) of where the store was located and we finally reached an information booth and the guy told us we still had 4 more blocks to go. We finally made it after all of that madness I wasn’t impressed and come to find out this actually wasn’t the H&M we wanted to go to (the other one was actually larger), but remember our cab driver threw us out in the middle of the street. We made the best of it and I did find a few things and I also helped Krystel find a few items as well. We then caught a bite to eat and headed back to the hotel (running behind of course) to get dressed for the party for that evening.

    What I WoreWhat I Wore:
    Sequin Skirt~JCPenny | Tuxedo Blazer~Kohl’s {LC Lauren Conrad} similar here | Booties~DSW | Neon Necklace~Versona Accessories | Neon Pink Top~H&M |Clutch~Poshmark | Assorted Bracelets~Forever 21, Burlington, Target

     After getting dressed we headed to a restaurant called Pranna to attend Lipsticks & High Heels hosted by the lovely Trina from The Baby Shopaholic (also featured here for Fashion Friday) and it was a blast. Trina was such a great host and I felt very welcomed. I also met many other bloggers that night as well and we clicked liked we had know each other for years…the power of networking is AWESOME! It was great being around other bloggers because we get one another. We don’t have to explain why we do what we do as in taking pictures of every little thing and all the details because we get it. Some people don’t get it (ie. non-bloggers lol) and I find myself constantly having to explain why there is a need for so many pictures…Am I alone? Do you ever feel that way?!
