Hello Lovelies,
This week’s blog feature is the lovely Nicole from Austin, Texas. I absolutely love Nicole’s vintage style and her uniqueness…She makes everything FAB no matter what it is. I admire her fashion sense and all of her vintage finds. I also have to mention that Nicole’s hair is natural and she truly wears it well. The pictures give no justice…in person her hair is ALWAYS on point! I could never pull it off, but she rocks it!!!
Tell us a little about your blog?
Currently I have not started my blog but at least once or twice a week I try to post a photo of myself on Facebook. I also have a fashion group on Facebook, . I would like to start a blog to show the curvier woman that she can look good at any size and age.
What are some things you have learned being a fashion blogger that you care to share?
I’ve learned over the years that you do not have to conform to what society “thinks” you should put on your body. You need to know and be aware of what looks good on “your” body type. ALL STYLES are NOT made for your shape. Just because it comes in your size does not mean that it will look flattering on you. It’s not written in stone that you “have” to wear the most current and latest styles. You can wear a throwback piece (shirt, skirt, pants etc) and add something new and add your own flare, that’s when it becomes your creation. Proper foundation (bra and shapers if needed). If you don’t wear the proper foundation then whatever you put on won’t look right. The most important thing to me is being creative and letting the world see your “shine” through the look that you create.
What are your wardrobe must haves?
A simple black dress, basic black pump, a pearl necklace, a classic cut blazer…you can work around each of these pieces especially since they will never go out of style.
Vintage or trends?
I absolutely LOVE vintage and sometimes I feel like my previous life was spent in either the 40’s or the 70’s. The dresses were made so simple in the 40’s and they were becoming to all body shapes. I like the 70’s for their funky patterns and original styles; however, I think it’s good to have vintage and trends because you can mix them together and make your look your own.
How would you define your style?
I’m a 40’s/70’s throwback that meshes the old with the new. I don’t have a particular look that I have to wear each day…one day I may wake up and want to wear a old school dress, or maybe a hip hop look…it all depends on how I feel when I open my eyes. I use creativity on my fashion playground every day…there’s nothing like a new look each day.
I personally know Nicole..she is a great friend of mine and my big sis {Curve Appeal Sisterhood}. She loves shopping on a budget and is the “Queen” of thrifting. I’m looking forward to her starting her blog and will make sure to share that with you guys once she does, but for now feel free to request to be a member of her group on Facebook, . I ♥ you sis!
~Thanks for Reading~

Great style. I like her outfits. I also like your new site changes. Very fierce. Are you going to BlogHer, if so, I’d love to meet you.
LOVE this!! I swear I’m fashion impaired, I find it hard to pair styles together, and if I could I’d wear black every day! Coming out of my shell and trying new styles and colors has been…an experience. And speaking of a pair of black pumps, I am overdue for a new pair!
Oh YES, Ms. Nicole is a DEAR, sweet, FLY, stylish friend of mine also. I LOVE her style! I also can NOT wait till she starts her blog, I know it’s going to be off the chain! I truly enjoyed this post.
