    “Never Settle for Less” {H&R Block Sponsored Post}

    January 19, 2012 / Family, Sponsored

    After completing high school and having a child at the age of 19 it seemed very difficult to stay focused and determined in continuing my education past high school. My parents has always instilled in me the importance of education and I wasn’t going to let the fact that I had my first child at a young age stop me from achieving my dreams of graduating from college and I did just that. After my husband joined the military we moved away and once we got settled and my son was enrolled in daycare I almost immediately went back to college. Of course there was a bumpy road along the way and it definitely wasn’t an easy ride.

    • I had to put my education on a hold at times for financial reasons.
    • We often relocated due to the military.
    • I dealt with deployments and worked full time being both the mom and dad while my husband was away (while attending my last year of undergrad)
    • As I got closer to finishing I wanted to give up from the struggle of it all, but didn’t. I remained focused and had faith.

    Overall I achieved what it was that I truly wanted and even beyond that.  In December of 2009, I received my BA with a specialization in HR Management and just last year, December 2011, I received my MBA with a specialization in HR Management. So for all of those who believe and/or say it can’t be done with kids, this is not true because I am proof that it definitely can. It was such a great feeling when I walked across the stage to receive both degrees and I felt that I had accomplished the goals that I had aimed for. All of the late night studying, weekly struggles of completing homework and testing definitely paid off. I’m so thankful for the support of my loving husband and my family through it all and without their help it could not have been done. In the end if you are determined about something give it your all and “Never Settle for Less” because all things are possible.
